Do your students need to understand how and why all circles are similar? Given 4 pairs of circles centered at the origin, students will explore that all circles are similar. To do this students will find the radius of each circle, then calculate the ratio of the areas and circumferences. On the 5th slide, students are asked to draw their own circles not centered at the origin to see if their discoveries still hold true. At the end, students will be asked to compile all their data in order to dra
Do you need a non-traditional way for your students to practice End Behavior? Students practice identifying End Behavior without the mess of traditional Cut & Paste! There is a lot of flexibility as the activity may be used as a whole class activity via a projector, group work in a classroom with not quite 1:1, or as an individual activity in a 1:1 setting. Be sure to delete the answer key slides and only include the desired version, before sharing the document with them. View the Video Previe
Do you ever get frustrated by the mess of cut and paste activities? Download today for no more mess! Students practice labeling a Unit Circle in a scaffolded approach. The activity may be used as a whole class activity via a projector, station work, as an individual activity in a 1:1 setting, or with Google Classroom. Included in this download: •Scaffolded activities labeling: •angle measures •radians •coordinates and angles of 30-60-90 triangles •coordinates and angles of 45-45-90 triangles

Factor Polynomials Cut and Paste gives students the opportunity to categorize 31 polynomials based on binomials vs trinomials. Then students further categorize into:
♦quadratic formula
♦trinomials with a = 1
♦trinomials with a not equal to 1
♦perfect square trinomials
♦difference of squares
♦sum of 2 cubes
♦difference of cubes.

As a further extension, students can factor these polynomials and find the zeros. If students go all the way through finding the zeros, it may take up
Click and Reveals are a great way to introduce or review a topic or a unit. The PowerPoint is projected in slide show mode on a screen. Students compete in teams to answer the questions using their resources (book, internet, notes, each other). When they have an answer, they send one member up to the teacher to check accuracy. If the student is correct, they may click the question to begin to reveal a picture. WARNING: Students can get very competitive with this activity! Once all the quest
Students create a flip book using Power Point to discover and/or apply properties of geometric transformations. The student handout provides detailed instructions on how to create the flip book which includes using the “duplicate slide” feature in Power Point. Students are required* to create a minimum of 10 slides with 4 different movements. Students are given the opportunity to choose what type of movements they use within given parameters. This choice provides the opportunity for great di
We have heard the question so many times in our teaching career: “Why do I have to learn this stuff? I’m never going to use it in my life.” This thought provoking PowerPoint gives students the opportunity to think about some possible situations where they may use math in their lives and answer this ever common question.

This inquiry activity is a fun way to discover the various properties of rotations and reflections. Students and or the teacher will take reflection pictures of students using an iOS device and the Photo Booth App. (This app usually comes standard on iOS devices.) Students will then import these photos into the provided PowerPoint and onto slides with a coordinate plane. It is through these slides, that students will begin to discover the effect transformations have on a set of coordinates. I
I have been teaching HS math since 2001. I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Math Ed and a Master's Degree in Technology in the Classroom.
Teaching style
My philosophy of teaching is to find different ways for students to learn. I believe it is important to show students that math does apply to the "real world" and that yes, indeed, math can be fun.
