Students need extra practice in factoring complex trinomials. What better way to get them engaged then to spice up their practice with a little escape room adventure. Students are read a brief scenario and then factor their expression. They then look for their factors (clues) and record the number. All the students have to work together to get the correct combo and escape the class!

Students struggle over creating linear expressions from the text of a word problem. To help them I have created two resources here. This module is designed to help students understand both the particle theory a little better and also get some experience programming.
This module can be given to students to show them how to code in Scratch and to reinforce the ideas of the Particle Theory of matter. No coding experience is necessary and no special equipment is needed other than this workbook and access to the internet.

Students can learn about the digestive system from the provided text. Then they will summarize their learning about the individual organs on the work pages and link the 4 basic tissue types with each of the organs. Answer key is provided.
Analytical Geometry: Quadrilaterals and Triangles using Length and Slope
Students pick a card that has a series of co-ordinates on one side and the shape these co-ordinates creates on the other. They they use the blank worksheets to graph the points. The worksheets act as graphic organizers so that students can structure the process in determining what shape it is using the length of the segments between the points and the slopes. Full solutions are provided for all the shape types.

Scratch is a free online coding platform and I walk you through all the steps needed to make a simple program of an accelerating apple. Coding is a great way to introduce STEM into your classroom and this will help increase your confidence in its use.

Finding the area of a triangle using three points can be difficult for students because of the number of steps. This activity is designed to get students out of their seats a little and guide them to the solution. If they get stuck they can check the hints and be on their way to the answer.
