I created this tool to track my own students' data and progress towards their academic goals. It is entirely in PowerPoint and can be customized to include your favorite fonts and clip art. What’s the Point is a number routine that exercises students’ number sense, estimation skills, and reasonability. The student(s) is presented with a closed number line with two given endpoints. On the number line, a non-labeled point is plotted. It is up to students to reason what that point may be using number sense, estimation, and reasonability and explain how/why they believe their answer to be true.
