I've worked in a variety of settings at a variety of grade-levels. I started my career in preschool, where I worked for six years. During my time there, I developed a comprehensive developmental checklist and assessment items for ages 6 months to 5 years. I also taught 5th grade in an upper-middle class suburban community as well as an urban charter school that served a Muslim population. Since then, I have been in my current district, Ann Arbor. There I have taught 1st grade and 4th grade. For 7 years, I also worked for The Princeton Review, a test preparation company. For The Princeton Review, I taught and tutored for the ACT, SAT, GMAT, GRE, and MCAT verbal tests. I trained prospective teachers for the ACT and GMAT. I also wrote content for their ACT, Early Edge, and GMAT materials.
My focus is on small-group instruction with flexible groupings based on data. I try to incorporate authentic learning experiences and inquiry-based investigations.
