I teach creative expression so many of the activities we do are experiential and based on exploring the body, face, and voice. I find that creativity is sometimes locked up in fear of "looking silly" or the assumption that "I cannot be creative" and that with a little support and some highly creative activities based on the universal language of play- that creative spark can be unlocked and suddenly there is more permission to let that voice out and read or speak with expression! I have found even the quietest of kiddos have fun with these activities and when feeling really supported-I have seen kids develop numerous skills (reading with expression, writing with depth, imagination, self-trust, confidence in speaking aloud, and making creative choices, etc.)
I teach that your creative expression is always inside you and that we ALL have the birthright, ability, and talent to express ourselves in an authentic, clear, supported, and heart-connected way! I use puppets, basic scripts, readers theatre practices, improvisation, hero's journey exploration of face, body, and voice to unleash those vibrant expressive creative spirits!
