Geometry Made Easy

Students work with a partner. One partner does the problems on the left side, the other partner does the questions on the right side. The questions are different, however, the answers are the same. One both students arrive at the same answer they can move on to the next question.

This worksheet can either be a homework assignment, partner activity, or individual activity. Students must select any combination of problems that adds up to at least 10 points.

This station activity allows students to complete problems reviewing the following concepts: ratio and proportion, similarity in right triangles, proving triangles similar, geometric mean, proportions in right triangles, scale drawings, and indirect measurement. This is a station activity in order to review zero and negative exponents, multiplication of exponents, division of exponents, scientific notation, and power of a power. I usually put 5 communicators in each station and give the students approximately 10 minutes to complete the problems in each station.

Students can work as partners or individually. Students must determine whether the given equations are parallel, perpendicular, the same line, or have no relationship.

This activity has students practice rotating about different points in the coordinate plane. You will have to label the vertices of the triangles with whatever letters you choose and select a point of rotation. I like to do points in each quadrant, on the axes, and at least one on the figure itself so the students can see that if the figure is on the point of rotation that that point doesn't move.

This station activity can be used as an Algebra midterm review lesson, a lesson in which you are teaching students the proper ways to answer open ended type questions, or a jigsaw activity. Students will see a variety of different questions and most will have many solutions to them. You can assign each group a set of problems and have them teach and present their findings to the class.

This is a group project. I left the conditional statement blank so the teacher can create a different statement for each group. You can tier this project by making some conditional statements more difficult than others. The students have to determine the truth value of each statement and if false, provide a counterexample. Once completed, each group can present to the class.

For this activity, you can post the problems around the room and I sometimes include the answer on the back of the page or simply wait until the activity is over and review the answers as a whole class. You can also turn it into a white board activity and give the students a certain amount of time to answer each question and then hold up their answers.

This activity can be done individually or with a partner. Post the questions around the classroom. Have each student visit each problem, solve it, and record their answer. At the conclusion of the activity, I reveal the answers on the Smart Board so students can check their work and ask questions if necessary. I print each page of this activity on a different color paper, Then put in a communicator. The students work with a partner or individually to race and answer the questions. Once they are finished, they run up to show me and they either have to correct it or they can move on to the next question (color paper). The kids love it and want to WIN! On question # 3, Write a script l in for the slant height for the second part of the question.

This exponential function worksheet allows students to graph exponential functions on coordinate planes and analyze their behavior. Students will make conjectures about y-intercept, asymptotes, and how the behavior of a graph changes as the base increases or decreases.

I use this activity to review two step equations, clearing fractions, clearing decimals, and two step equation application problems. Using communicators I print each sheet on a different color of paper. Students work in pairs to race to complete the problems. Once they think they have the solution one student checks it with me. If everything is correct, they go on to the next color paper in their communicator. If it's incorrect they go back to their seat to find the error.
