Students will create a collage using Pixlr and masks. I am always impressed with the final results of this project and my students love how they turn out. This is a great lesson for teaching the importance of dimensions and pixel ratios. It's also a great use of masking! Some knowledge of using Pixlr and masks is helpful but not required. Most students should be able to follow the tutorial without guidance. This includes and update for the newest version of Pixlr!

Students will use the online photo editing program, Pixlr to colorize an image and then add props to it. They will then add the final image to a background that they create. Students who do this lesson should have some basic previous knowledge with png images, transparent backgrounds, and Pixlr. This tutorial is not overly complex and beginners should have no problems. I've had great results with this project and the students really enjoy creating these.

In this fun lesson, students will learn how to create an animated gif of a cat DJing a pizza in space. As silly as the lesson sounds, there are many skills to be learned in this lesson. Students will use masks, the lasso tool, layers, outer glows and many other skills. This is a step by step tutorial that should be beginner friendly. My students really enjoyed learning how to make this and the skills can carry over to other fun projects! This uses the most up to date free version of Pixlr.

Teaching style

I love teaching with technology. I use a flipped classroom style. I love that students can access lessons from anywhere. I try to incorporate many cross curricular activities in my lessons. I love lessons that have visual and auditory examples that let students learn at the pace they feel comfortable.
