This file contains a pretest and quiz (post test) for a forces and motion overview. Balanced and unbalanced forces, friction, inertia, gravity, air resistance, and acceleration are among the many concepts included. I used this pretest and quiz with my 6th grade students in preparation for a study on Newton's Laws of Motion. This resource would be appropriate for grades 5-12.

This center is designed to be used following an introductory lesson based on the counting of syllables in words. At this center, students sort words into the appropriate columns, based on the number of syllables within the word. Students draw words, which are located on bottle caps, from a box. They then read the word, determine the number of syllables, and write the word under the appropriate column. The center can be constructed out of one folder, a tissue box, and bottle caps with words writt
