Intro to Geometry Notes Booklet

This is the week long set of notes I made for my algebra kiddos to prepare them for geometry! Most of this is a review of 8th grade math but is likely things they have forgotten after spending all year working on linear, quadratic, and exponential functions. I will be using a mathematics software my school pays for (IXL- IT ROCKS) to supplement their practice after covering the notes/questions in this booklet. This will take my kids a full 3 days (maybe 4) prior to starting our end of year final

Proving Function Inverses Pizzazz (Riddle Sheet)

This activity is a Pizzazz where students find the answer to a riddle by solving problems. The topic covered aligns with algebra 2's inverse functions topics where students use function composition f(g(x)) and g(f(x)) to prove if the given pairs of functions are inverses or not. The functions used are linear, quadratics, cubic, square root, and cube root but are generally shorter in steps than most upper level inverse problems. This was made for students who are predominantly below grade level g

Unit Circle Project (Rubric)

This is a great moment for all your creative minds to ger a chance to shine even if they might not be the strongest in a mathematics classroom. It is often so hard to get a chance to make opportunities for kids to be creative in upper level math that I love getting to offer this Unit Circle project as out unit assessment for trig. Included is the rubric and calculations sheet that I give to all students. They are given 2-3 weeks depending on the timeline to complete this project and turn it in w

Reference & Co-terminal Angles (Degree Only) Coloring Page

This is a chance for your older bunch to be able to color as well! My seniors love when we have coloring pages so I am trying to incorporate more of them into our practice time. This assignment covers finding the co-terminal angle between 0-360 of positive and negative given angles as well as finding the reference angle for any angles within Q1-4. (The entire page is in degrees, I also have the same page available in radians, as well as a combo half degree half radian. Please note that they woul

Graphs of Polynomial Functions Card Sort (Summary Activity + Quiz)

**I made this for my on-level pre-calc students but found they struggled with the difficulty of the factoring, just a warning might be a little too hard for on level!** This is a 3 page activity for students to practice with all properties of polynomial function (covers cubic, quartic, and quintic) graphs. Students will need to know how to factor polynomials, simplify polynomials using synthetic division, and can match graphs using non-calculator or calculator methods. List of categories studen

Late Work Passes (Quarter Sheets)

These are late work passes that my students use to inform me that they are submitting assignments past the due date and gives them a chance to reflect on why. I pass them out 6 at a time and that is their available amount for the entire semester, I do limit them to 2 per six weeks grading cycle and any left over they can turn in for extra credit.

Factoring Trinomials Unit Test (4 Versions)

This is a summative assessment that covers all of trinomial factoring including when a is 1 and a positive or negative number not equal to 1. There is also a couple problems with GCF only from a binomial and the extra credit is a difference of squares as some students see these as having a middle term of 0. There are four versions included with all problems comparable in the same order just with different numbers. I gave this after a few weeks of factoring review with my students prior to our ra

Unit Circle, Trig Ratios, and Identities Cheat Sheet

A one stop shop for your students to use as a journal bookmark or instead of a notes index card on assessments. Print 2 sheets to a page on colored paper for the perfect size to keep in a composition notebook during your Trigonometry unit! Has a fully filled out unit circle, trig ratios for triangular and circular trig, signs of trig ratios by quadrant, and all identities (reciprocal, quotient, pythagorean).

This is a chance for your older bunch to be able to color as well! My seniors love when we have coloring pages so I am trying to incorporate more of them into our practice time. This assignment covers finding the co-terminal angle between 0-360/2pi of positive and negative given angles as well as finding the reference angle for any angles within Q1-4. Cut N Build: Pythagorean Theorem & Trig Ratios (Shape Puzzle)

This is a shape puzzle where students are given 9 triangles and will build one large shape with all their triangles stuck together so they can answer the riddle at the top of the page. The skills needed are working understanding of the pythagorean theorem, trig ratios, simplifying radicals, and rationalizing radical denominators. This is a type of activity that I have my students complete in pairs, but everyone turns in their own student workspace paper so I can see that everyone knows how to do

Absent Work Passes (1/9 sheets)

These are passes that I keep on the table with the turn in trays for students to attach to their work if it is late due to an absence. I do not pass these out as I have high schoolers so some of them in extracurriculars are out quite a bit for school events and I find it better to just keep a stack available.

Show What You Know (1st Day of School Skills Assessment)

I like to do a "show what you know" as part of our first day of school procedure to help students get their math brain kickstarted after summer break! This one was what I used for my resource, SpEd inclusion, and on level/ELL algebra 1 students to get a handle on their mental proficiency of integer operations as well as simple equations (in Texas these are taught in 7th-8th). I normally take this as a chance for them to learn the skill of "trade and grade" so they can get immediate feedback but

Solving for Roots of Cubic Functions Pizzazz (Riddle Sheet)

This riddle sheet covers how to find all the real and imaginary (only on 1 problem) roots of a cubic function when given a root or factor. Due to my students ability level, this worksheet is appropriate for on level and for students with accommodated needs. These can be solved multiple different ways to allow all teachers with different methods to teach how they see fit but the directions make most sense following the method of using synthetic division and then the quadratic formula. Reference & Co-terminal Angles Coloring Page Bundle (All units)

This is a bundle including all three versions of my astronaut coloring sheet that practices finding reference and co-terminal angles in degrees and radians! (You can do degree only, radian only, or a half and half combo sheet.) There is a significant overlap in questions (about half) between the degree only/half degree and the radian only/half radian so I do not think this would work as multiple separate assignments in a row but could if you do them some time apart for students to not be able to

Identifying Functions (Notes & Practice)

I used this table sheet as part of a stations rotation that multiple teachers made but think it would be a great idea for connect four as well. Students must identify if the relation in each box is a function or not a function. This graphic organizer has fill in the blank quick notes at the top just to clarify simple rules of if a relation is a function or non-function, would be great for state EOC review. There is an answer key! **I got the title font for free from Rowdy in Room 300!!!, thanks

Complex Number Operations Scavenger Hunt Partner Activity

This resource is a scavenger hunt covering complex number operations (adding, subtracting, and multiplying only). The activity is 12 problems and a student workspace page formatted as 1 question and 1 answer (to the previous problem) per sheet. I like to print out this assignment as 2 sheets per page under printer layout and 1 sided, then I hang the half sheets in numerical order clockwise around the room. Factoring Trinomial Card Game/Relay

This is intended to be a partner or group game in which students work collaboratively to get correct answers. The questions include coefficients of negative and positive numbers and are predominantly greater than 1. There are a couple problems where it asks the student to find the solutions and graph the quadratic, you can easily leave those out if only wanting factoring. This packet includes all question cards, instructions, an answer key, and the blank student worksheet.

Multiplying Rational Expressions Pizzazz (Riddle Sheet)

This riddle worksheet covers the topic of multiplying rational functions including when you have to factor binomials (GCF and perfect squares) and trinomials. (Please note: this might not be suitable for honors students as none of the factoring is 2 levels and all the trinomials have a = 1.) This topic is very rigorous for below grade level gen-ed, TR/ELL, and students with accommodated needs, this is why I have kept the factoring to a general minimum + made it the "simpler" type of factoring.
