3,2,1 Formative Assessment and Activity Reflection

This 3, 2, 1 activity is a quick, easy tool for reflection in the classroom. Students will reflect on 3 new facts they learned, 2 "ah-ha" thoughts they had, and 1 question that they still have. I've used this format after all subject area lessons, field trips, non-fiction books, and current event assignments. This format is a great reflection tool for the students and a wonderful assessment tool for teachers! Enjoy!

This is a generic checklist that can be used with class sizes up to 28. (You can always add more names at the bottom if you have more than 28.) Just write in your students' names and the learning objective for the week. Then during whole group lessons, if they answer a question correctly, give them a plus sign. To decrease the amount of interruptions in your classroom, use a class signal for each need a child may have. Instead of a child raising their hand and disrupting the class, my students have shown me our class signals and with a simple head nod, their need is answered. I posted this little sign in the front of my classroom as a reminder for my students. I printed this sign on colorful and bright card stock paper and laminated it. The signals include: Bathroom Tissue Drink New pencil Question

Free Class Handbook Sample/Template

The beginning of the school year is always a crazy busy time of year. One of the massive tasks I used to dread was creating a class handbook. I’ve used a version of this handbook for years, and it is consistently a hit with students, parents, and the administration. At the beginning of the year, we read and annotate the handbook together (close reading practice anyone?!). Then, I give a brief quiz at the end of the first week. I hang a copy up in my classroom so that students (and I!) can refer

The GREEN is for students who totally understand the concept, YELLOW for students who kind of understand and RED for students who don't understand. To increase the functionality, I also printed the letters A, B, and C on the back in
