About the store
This is my 19th year in the classroom. I have taught Language Arts, English, and Yearbook in grades 7-12. I enjoy working with teenagers and igniting their passion for reading, writing, analyzing, and creating.
I currently teach sophomore and senior English, although I have experience teaching all grades 7-12. My TPT items are lessons and forms that I use in my own classroom, and all lessons are classroom tested.
Additionally, I advise a 400+ page chronological yearbook. It's quite an undertaking. My yearbook forms and rubrics were developed over the years and are used in my classroom each day.

Introduction to Yearbooks, activity for new yearbook students
I advise a 400-page chronological yearbook, and we publish on a year-round basis. Training new staff members at the beginning of the year is important, and it must be done as quickly as possible. This is the first activity I have my new staff members do as an introduction to the parts of a yearbook and some of the terms that we used in publishing. Camera Checkout Form
This form is useful for both the yearbook and photography classrooms. Cameras are the lifeblood of any yearbook staff. It's imperative to have our cameras functioning and ready to go in order to ensure that our staff can cover any event at any moment. Yearbook Quote Collections Form
Safeguard yourself and your yearbook staff! I have never had to defend myself or my staff against claims of falsifying a quote in a yearbook, but I am ready if it happens. This quote collection form is one of the ways we proactively protect ourselves. My staff members collect a signature for each and every quote that is used in the 400+ pages of our yearbook. Hamlet Anticipation Guide
What an excellent way to start your Hamlet unit! This anticipation guide will introduce your students to the themes of Hamlet and get them talking. The guide contains 14 statements directly associated with events and themes from the play. Students decide whether they agree or disagree with each statement, write their opinions for each one, and then share them aloud in a whole class discussion.

Personality Research Webquest, English or Physchology
This is a fun activity that I do with my 12th graders just before they embark on their major research paper. They love it because it is all about them, and I also get the added bonus of teaching them how to use the internet to conduct research, how to document their sources, and how to respond to informational text.

Research and Works Cited Activity / Bingo Game
This fun activity will introduce your students to the how-to's of online research and creating a works cited page (also known as a bibliography). Students use a traditional-style Bingo form to research the answers to interesting trivia questions. They also document their sources. In the second activity, students use their newfound sources to create a sample works cited page.
I use this activity just prior to assigning the research essay.

Macbeth Literary Terms Worksheet
This worksheet is comprised of 14 literary terms directly related to the play Macbeth. Students will both define the literary terms and provide examples of the terms that they find in their reading of the play.

Interview Paragraph Writing Lesson
This is a wonderful beginning-of-the-year-lesson to complete with your classes. Students compose interview questions, interview one another, complete a graphic organizer, write a paragraph based on their interviews, and introduce a classmate to the class.

FREE! Blank Vocabulary Worksheet
