I have created a smart notebook filled with all the materials you will need to teach each lesson. My district recently adopted the Singapore Math program. It is aligned with the Common Core and very close to the Math Modules. I do find that there is a lot of prep work required before each lesson is taught. If you are like me and already have 1,000 things to do each day you really don’t have the time to make copies, cut out pictures, etc. I started to create a week’s worth of lessons on the smartboard so I have one less thing to worry about in my day. These are all the application problems for first grade math module 2. I have created 28 interactive slides to help the children solve the problems. I don’t know about everyone else but the worksheets are quite dull. The slides I create allow the children to use infinite cloners and a little bit of creativity while still solving the problems. The last few slides I have the children draw their own quick math drawings to figure out the answer. I do this every morning as part of my morning meet

My first graders are heading into Module 2 on the NYS curriculum and unit 6 of Singapore math. They really need to know their 10 partners and teen numbers to be successful in this upcoming unit.
