This interactive printable allows students to practice using a hundreds chart to add a multiple of 10 to a two-digit number (and one one-digit number). They must show their thinking using the corresponding color for each equation.
This worksheet can be used as an in class activity, homework assignment, or assessment. It's a simple, visual way to assess student understanding of the strategy of using a hundreds chart to add tens.
Answer sheet is included.
This printable asks students to show that they can use the following strategies to solve the same equation:
• Drawing base-ten blocks
• Making a number line
• Using a 120 chart
On page 2, they are also required to explain, in words, how they used 1 of their strategies to reach their solution.
This can be used over and over as:
• In-class practice
• Homework
• An effective assessment

Students will practice telling and writing time to the nearest five minutes in A.M. and P.M. Students are to read an analog clock and a description of an event. They must record the time on a digital clock and circle "am" or "pm".
There are twelve clocks total.
You could easily differentiate by designating more or less clocks based on the student's needs. Answers are included.
Read-The-Room Directions: Cut out each
Students will practice double-digit subtraction (without regrouping) by drawing base-ten blocks and then crossing out the tens and ones that are subtracted. There is one bonus problem that involves regrouping.
Students can complete this with or with out base-ten manipulatives.
Enjoy! Please provide feedback. :)
This booklet includes directions for four different card games that can be played both in the classroom and at home, to practice math skills.
Games included:
Salute!
Addition/Subtraction War
Place Value (greater or less than)
Make 10
The booklets can be used to introduce the students to the games in the classroom, and then sent home for students to continue their learning as they play with their families. It could also be a fun parent-teacher conference hand-out.

Students practice math with their trick-or-treat candy.
To complete this homework assignment, students will have to count all of their Halloween candy and complete number sense activities around their totals. The worksheet includes:
*Finding the number on the hundreds chart
*Creating a fact family
*Representing their total with base-ten blocks
*Answering story problems that involve addition and subtraction
I like to ask students to complete just number 1 (counting their candy) on Halloween ni

Students practice measurement and recording data on a line plot with this fun fall center! It can be used in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grades, but is specifically aligned to the Common Core Standards for 2nd grade.
This activity requires several (15+) real leaves
Leaves may be collected:
1. by the teacher, ahead of time
2. by students, during a nature walk
3. by students, as a homework assignment
To complete the activity, students must use a ruler to measure each leaf and record it on
This activity was designed to be a math center where students are to practice measuring to the nearest inch and answering questions about the data that they record.
Students use rulers to measure eight differently colored pipe cleaner "caterpillars" to the nearest inch. They will color in each caterpillar on their sheet and write down it's length. When finished, students answer several questions about their measurements, including simple "what length was the orange caterpillar?" and more adva
This activity includes 6 different measurement story problems. Students are to show their work by drawing a number line or a ruler, or writing an equation to solve each problem. The first problem is very simple and each consecutive problem becomes more and more advanced (works great for differentiation). The activity aligns with

Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve word problems involving lengths that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawing
Included are color and b&w copies of the following: (print out the color copies, laminate, and have students use dry-erase markers for a more earth-friendly activity)
Earth Day crossword puzzle: students fill in the blanks of different tips to help take care of the planet. (cover up the word bank to create a differentiated/more challenging puzzle)
Number of the day: students work with the number of the day, 422 (date of Earth Day) in different common core aligned number sense exercises. Also
This makes a great math center for students to practice skip counting and/or grouping/arrays. For this center you will have to provide several different small objects (paperclips, beads, stickers, beans, etc.).
Students are to grab a handful of one type of object and count them using skip counting or grouping strategies.
I had my students put their objects in groups of 2s, 5s, or 10s as we were working on skip counting with those numbers. You could certainly have students work with diff
