Description

Use "Down the Hatch", a multiple choice Microsoft PowerPoint game, to spice up lessons. Bring even the most hesitant learner out of their lazy daze. Invigorate your classroom with a learning-based, competitive enthusiasm that will have students begging to play (and learn) some more.

How to play:

* Divide the class into teams or play as individuals.

* Open the “Down the Hatch” game you created and saved.

* Click once to move past the title slide.

* Have players select an answer.

* If they are incorrect, the square containing the wrong answer is dropped “Down the Hatch.”

* If they select the correct answer, the answer enlarges as it moves to the center of the slide and “Correct” bounces onto the slide.

* Click the brown arrow at the right side of the slide to advance to the next question.

* Continue playing until all twenty questions have been answers.

* The players answering the most questions correctly win the game.

Scoring Tips:

The simplest way to keep score is to give a point for each correct answer.

Another option is to give four points if players answer correctly with their first guess, three points on the second guess, two points on the third guess, and only one point if the correct answer is the last one selected.

Features:

* Twenty question/answer slides.

* “Teacher Instructions” for entering content.

* Suggested rules for playing the game

Benefits:

* Questions are entered and edited by the teacher, so the game’s content is customizable for all subjects and grade levels.

* Great practice for honing multiple-choice test-taking skills.

* Incorrect answers are removed from the board to help students narrow down their choices.

* Students resist reviews. They’ve learned it all once. Why should they bother going through it again? With this fun competitive game, students want to master skills and surge ahead of the competition to win.

* AND it's FUN!

A “How to Play” slide appears on the last slide of the game.
