Ten and some more! Are your kids struggling with those TERRIBLE TEENS?? This set of activities help your students practice building teen numbers! K.NBT.1 expects students to understand how to make a teen number. However, it doesn't expect kids to understand the standard place value concepts of tens and ones. These activities help kids to internalize that a teen number is a group of ten, and then some more! These activities are based on Math Recovery, AVMR and Singapore Math strategies.

These arrows, when used alone for number i.d., or with manipulatives for quantity understanding, will help your students understand that the 8 in 835 means 800, not "8 in the hundreds place".
