All About Me Math Project (Aligns to the Number System)

This project is something I do during our very first unit in 6th grade, which is the Number System for us. There are 3 different levels included to use with gifted to low students. Each question has a specific standard that is addressed in order to show their answer. The project includes how I use it, my introduction to the students, and the 3 levels of complexity as well as

6th Grade Common Core Full Math Notebook Inserts

I have used an interactive notebook for the last 3 years in math and my students love it (well, at least most of them). I found though, that for my lower level students and lower level classes, all of the cute foldable, flippables could be overwhelming and take away quite a bit of instruction time. I decided to adapt my normal interactive notebook to create something more manageable for students who struggled with the interactive piece. I still felt there was a value in taking notes and writin

These stations and activities specifically align with 6th grade standards dealing with finding the surface area of rectangular and triangular prisms and finding the volume of rectangular prisms with cubes or with fractional sides. Mostly they revolve around volume. You can use these as stations or activities in your class in small groups. I use these as stations and have included my stations sheet. The way I use these stations is not requiring students to do all of the stations, but by letting

They do not feel that they can help them anymore as the concepts are new and it has been a long time since they learned similar concepts. In order to help bridge the gap and ease some parents minds, I have created this guide to 6th Grade math. It has all 5 domains included and all the standards that the students need to learn.
